Corker Outdoor Living
Courtyard Show Garden

Designed for Corker Outdoor Living's 2023 Show Garden Re-Launch and exquisitely built by Royal Tunbridge Wells Landscapes.

Taking Corker’s range of exclusively sourced Dutch clay pavers as a starting point, the concept for this garden was inspired by contemporary Dutch design which explores beauty in simplicity. An emphasis on clean, uncluttered vertical and horizontal lines, putting materials and craftsmanship centre stage, underpins this approach.

Whilst all design ideas within the show garden are scalable for an outdoor space of any size, the design takes the restricted proportions of the plot and explores how to make the most of small or awkwardly shaped spaces. The central path has been offset and positioned diagonally across the garden to maximise length, accentuating the longest part of the garden.

A rectangular terrace, laid in softly veined grey limestone, is angled to push the boundaries of the garden away, draw the eye inwards and give a dynamic quality to the space. A bowl of water reflects light and movement into the north-facing plot. The garden carefully combines a collection of complementary materials to illustrate how products can be applied to create different zones and characters.
